§ 9: Library Clearance Protocols
§ 9.1: Preamble and Classification Tiers
§ 9.1.a This section outlines the regulations governing access to, handling of, and dissemination of Classified Material within the Library of Genos Dunkirk. The primary objective of these protocols is to ensure the security of the collection, the safety of library personel and patrons, and the containment of information considered cognitohazardous, or otherwise destructive information.
§ 9.1.b For the purposes of library operations, "classified material" is defined as any textual, artifactual, or ephemeral holding of the library which has been assigned a security designation by a qualified staff member. Materials are classified into five (5) tiers of ascending restriction:
- Level I: Materials restricted to library staff for operational purposes.
- Level II: Materials containing politically, historically, or personally sensitive information requiring formal application for access. Standard library security information is also considered Level II.
- Level III: Materials detailing potent arcane theories, rituals, or schematics or other information that poses a direct risk to the handler if improperly utilized.
- Level IV: Materials that are or contain information that is actively hostile, parasitic, or capable of inducing significant alteration to the reader or nearby environment.
- Level V: Materials personally restricted by the library director.
§ 9.1.c Clearance access, as well as approval permissions for library personnel, are defined in the role description for staff positions. (See: § 7.1).
